Carex Woodii Sedge

Wood’s sedge (carex woodii) is a fine-textured grass that’s native to the eastern United States. It slowly spreads by rhizomes to fill an area, making it an excellent choice for accent plantings, erosion control, or a native lawn replacement. It can even be mowed to maintain a short height.

While wood’s sedge (Carex woodii) thrives in shade, it can handle more sun with supplemental moisture. It blooms with tiny, yellow-green flowers bloom in spring. It is deer-resistant and semi-evergreen (meaning it maintains some winter presence in mild climates).
