The leathery, deep red leaves on low, spreading Coral Bells, Heuchera x ‘Fire Alarm’ are as red as they get. The color of ‘Fire Alarm’ varies through the season, sometimes being more orange red. Heuchera x ‘Fire Alram’ has little white, bell-shaped blooms on red stems that wave above the foliage in summer. Evergreen in warm climates, this perennial is good in containers as well as the border.
Heuchera ‘Fire Alarm’ is a hybrid cultivar of H. micrantha with H. villosa, so it stands up to southern heat and humidity.
Heuchera ‘Fire Alarm’ prefers light to partial shade and fertile, moist, but well-drained soil. Frequent division helps Coral Bells maintain vigor. Plant patented.
