Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides ‘Variegata’ has variegated leaves of green, white and yellow that create a wonderful array of color on the ground. Its leaves root as they spread to create carpeting mats. Hydrocotlyle’s small white to green flowers come and go quickly, often unnoticed. Also called Marsh Pennywort, Hydrocotye sibthorpioides is a vigorous perennial spreader that forms a dense ground cover, but beware that it may become weedy in its favored conditions.
Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides ‘Variegata’ prefers full sun to part shade and moist to wet soil. It can also grow in water. Variegated Marsh Pennywort tolerates moderate foot traffic. Space on 8″-12″ centers.
